Apparatus/Equipment
Engine 1202
Engine 1202 is a Ferrara Fire Apparatus manufactured in Holden, Louisiana.
Built on an HME cab and chassis, Engine 1202 features a 1,500 gpm pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water in the booster tank. The cab includes seating for six firefighters with five SCBA seats.
This fire truck has a 10” Newton quick-dump valve on the rear, and carries a 1,500 gallon drop tank mounted on the right side. This allows Engine 1202 to serve in multiple roles. It can serve as a “first-in” engine, or as a water shuttle.
The fire truck has a front-mount suction and SCBA cylinder storage above the rear wheels.
This fire truck features two 1-3/4” crosslays, a booster reel in the dunnage area, 1-3/4” and 2-1/2” pre-connects on the rear plus a deluge gun mounted above the dunnage area.
Engine 1202 is powered by a 330 hp Cummins Diesel with an Allison automatic transmission and a Waterous pump.
Though used by the Pine Mountain Fire Department, this truck actually belongs to Harris County.
Purchased in 2000, the cab and chassis is a 1999 model while the fire body was manufactured in 2000. By choosing to use the older but unused 1999 cab and chassis, the department saved taxpayer dollars.
