Pine Mountain firefighters have worked hard and completed
preparation of a house that will be burned as part of a structure
fire class.
Work schedules required firefighters to work well after dark on
removing shingles, paper backing, pvc pipe and exposed wiring from
the house. The department used Quint 1201 with ladder extended to
illuminate the roof and surrounding area so that work could be
conducted after dark.
The structure fire class has been scheduled for Saturday, November
8, and is being conducted through the Georgia Fire Academy.
A limited number of people will be allowed to participate in the
class with Harris County firefighters having priority. Firefighters
from other areas needing, or wanting, live fire training that are
interested in this class should contact Pine Mountain Fire Chief

The specifics on the Structure Fire Class are as follows
• Training Burn (GPSTC instructors) One-Room & Contents, Saturday,
November 8, 8:00 a.m. until ?
• Meet at Pine Mountain Public Safety Center at 301 E. Chipley St.,
Pine Mountain at 8:00 a.m.
• DEADLINE TO REGISTER: Tuesday, November 4. Don't miss
this deadline.
• Qualifications: Participants need to have Mod 1 (or equivalent)
and a Student Authorization Form signed by your chief in order to
take this class.
