Pine Mountain firefighters used F500 encapsulating foam to mitigate
a fuel spill and avoid a potentially hazardous.
The alarm sounded about 0900 hours Saturday, Dec. 27 with the report
of a gasoline spill at the Corner Shop located in Chipley Village.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the fuel spill had been
contained by store employees who had put down an oil absorbing
material. However, that material served to trap the volatile
gasoline between the fuel pumps.
Utilizing a three percent solution of the F500, firefighters used
Squad 12 to hose down the area, rendering the gasoline
F500 does not create a traditional foam blanket. Instead it works on
a molecular level, rendering hydrocarbons inert.
